What do you think about the idea that we believe because the God/Christ/Holy spirit in you that loves God?

What are some of the challenges of belief?

Read: https://www.patheos.com/blogs/freelancechristianity/why-we-believe-things-that-arent-true/

“How can someone who seems to be relatively normal and intelligent believe in something without any evidence?” Do you think there is evidence for your belief?

‘So long as an opinion is strongly rooted in the feelings, it gains rather than loses in stability by having a preponderating weight of argument against it . . . The worse it fares in argumentative context, the more persuaded its adherents are that their feeling must have some deeper ground, which the arguments do not reach.’

Consider

Do you agree with this statement?

Where do we need to use caution as people of faith?

Are there times when faith has clouded your view and you have held onto an ‘outlandishly incorrect idea.’

What is the purpose of Faith in life and in death?

Connections in Scripture- Read:

  • Psalm 23

  • Ephesians 5.8-14

  • John 9.1-7

  • Ezekiel 37:1-14

  • John 20.19-23

Consider

Which scriptures guide the way that you apply faith in your life? How does faith change the way you live each day and in a broader sense across the years?

A Blessing

As you go out today May you know that you are loved by God.

May you Breathe deeply,

love passionately,

exhale slowly

Move carefully

Be still in the moment

Challenge your weaknesses

rejoice in your imperfection

Feel the cold

Rejoice in your warmth

Embrace your smallness,

Revel in your greatness,

Be unique, Be yourself

Gather together in the love of community

Do all this inspired by the knowledge that you are loved by God and are held in God’s warm embrace now and forever more.

Amen
