KBHAC Coolamon Art Exhibition

Truth-Telling: Our Past, Present and Future

Coolamon Arts Hub Launch Exhibition
Thursday 11 September | 6.00pm
Paddington Uniting Church

We are delighted to welcome the launch of Coolamon Arts Hub at Paddington Uniting Church with a powerful new exhibition, Truth-Telling: Our Past, Present and Future.

The exhibition brings together the artwork and stories of KBH Survivors, sharing their experiences of Kinchela Boys’ Home (KBH), the legacies it has left on their lives, and their ongoing journeys of reconnecting with family and reclaiming culture.

This important exhibition creates space for truth-telling, reflection and connection, while centring the voices and creative expression of those with lived experience.

The exhibition also features Noongar and Spinifex visual storyteller Tracey Steven’s photographic collaboration with KBH Survivors, We Were Just Little Boys. Through photography and storytelling, the work offers another perspective on the experiences and enduring impact of the Kinchela Boys’ Home.

A new creative space for community

The launch also marks the beginning of Coolamon Arts Hub, a new arts and cultural initiative bringing creative practice, storytelling and community together at Paddington Uniting Church.

We are excited to see the church become a space where important stories can be shared, artists can be celebrated and the wider community can come together through art and conversation.
